Airtel Nigeria Lunched Unlimited Data Plans For Heavy Internet Users
A few days back, Airtel Nigeria released a teaser video on the Youtube informs us that their Unlimited data plans are coming soon and since then, many of us has been anxiously waiting for the official launch of the packages. And now, Airtel has silently launched the unlimited data packages.

With unlimited data plan, you can browse, download, upload and stream videos or even share your connections with your family and friends around you without fear of running out of data and no speed throttling of any kind. The introduction of unlimited data plan by one of our major telecom (Airtel) is a very good idea, but the prices tagged to the packages are not friendly at all.

The Airtel newly released Unlimited data comes in 3 different packages, meaning you can choose anyone that best suits you. Let's take a look at the Airtel unlimited data packages, the prices, and their activation codes.
Airtel Unlimited Packages
You can dial *141# and follow prompts or dial the below codes;
N10,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days
N15,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days
N20,000 Unlimited Package, Valid for 30days
To Activate Any of The Data Package
For N10,000 Unlimited package, dial *471#
For N15,000 Unlimited package, dial *463#
For N20,000 unlimited package, dial *351#

The plan was silently launched and even without any single word or comment from Airtel. Though, from the advert video released by Airtel, the plan was called unlimited data plans and merely looking at the price, the plan suppose to be unlimited for real. For now, I can't say if the plan is truly unlimited or capped, but one thing for sure, fair usage policy will attach to it.

9Mobile formerly known has Etisalat has unveiled a new logo and a new website.

9Mobile formerly known has Etisalat has unveiled a new logo and a new website.
Recall that Etisalat Nigeria ran into trouble over N541 billion debts owed a consortium of banks that include Access Bank PLC, Zenith Bank, GTBank, FirstBank and other foreign banks.
The intervention of the Nigerian financial and telecoms regulatory authorities had helped to prevent a major stricture that could have erased jobs and the integrity of the two sectors.

Both the Central Bank of Nigeria and Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said they are still studying the situation. The NCC has assured that there would be no negative impact on subscribers and on jobs.

The telecoms firm retained the ‘9janess’ by invariably deciding on ‘9’ in 9Mobile.
On the choice of “9”, 9mobile explained thus as gathered byBrand Spur Nigeria.
  • 9 is significant with nature, the start of life, time of birth. From our entry into the market 9 years ago to our evolution 9 years after, we are still 0809ja.
  • We are here for you, rebranded for you because it is all about you.
  • 9 stands for speed, quality, excellence. If you’re looking to the future, you find it with 9.
  • 9 gets you talking more, doing more, achieving more & living more

Historic passage of NOUN amendments in Senate sees graduates head to NYSC, Law school

Historic passage of NOUN amendments in Senate sees graduates head to NYSC, Law school

There is no more cog in the wheel of graduates heading to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Law School following the passage into law the series of amendments in the NOUN Act by the Nigerian senators.
The senators, on Thursday, passed the amendment to the Act that established NOUN bringing to an end the long-standing bottleneck in the Act that denied the graduates the opportunity to be mobilised by the NYSC or be recalled to the Nigerian Law schools.
The historic passage of the amendments, the first in the history of the institution since its initial establishment by the Shehu Shagari administration in 1982, has removed the perception in some quarters that the university was a part-time one.
The use of “correspondence” in the Act made the Council of Legal Education, the umbrella body that calls law graduates to the law school, and the NYSC to refuse the university’s graduates the chance to enrol, like their counterparts in conventional universities.
But the amendment to the Act by the Senate expunged the bottlenecks and recognises the university as a full-time, Open and Distance Learning institution in Nigeria. There are other areas where the amendment touches, including the incorporation of technology in the mode of learning as an ODL institution among others.
The senate’s final endorsement followed the clause-by-clause consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND chaired by Senator Barau Jibrin on the amendment of NOUN Act.
Senator Barau, an APC senator from Kano state, told his colleagues that the amendment would address the perception of the public about the university regarding the contentious “correspondence” usage in the Act.
The senator, while introducing the report of his committee said “These two concepts correspondence and part-time significantly affect the way the public views the programs run by the University.
“This has been the reason why the Law Graduates of the School are not admitted into the Nigerian Law School as well as the reason for the non-inclusion of the graduates of the University into the National Youth Service Corps Scheme.”
After the committee chairman’s submission and the clause-by-clause reading of the report, the Senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki put the voice vote to the chamber, where a resounding majority shouted “Ayes”, without a single voice of objection
